Yalçın Umut Talay has been working in our office since 2014 and continues to work as a managing lawyer as of 2023. He focused his work on companies, mergers, acquisitions, contracts, protection of personal data, and privacy.

Continuing to work on the merger and acquisition transactions of multinational companies in Turkey, Umut provides consultancy in the preparation and negotiations of share transfer, shareholding agreements, asset transfer, and technology transfer agreements. In this context, it carries out the processes of conducting detailed and due diligence for managers, also distributorship agreements, license agreements, tender agreements, consumer agreements, agency agreements, etc. He is also experienced in contracts subject to special regulations. Umut's work in the fields of companies, mergers and acquisitions, and contracts are concentrated in the technology, telecom, and media sectors. He also advises automotive and industrial companies and has extensive knowledge and experience regarding legislation and practice regarding environmental law, construction, and permit/license regulations within the scope of mergers and acquisitions with companies.

 Umut also provides services to clients in all areas of personal data protection law. It provides services to multinational companies, from carrying out compliance projects in the field of personal data protection to providing consultancy regarding data breaches and represents these companies before the Personal Data Protection Authority. Hope has a CIPP/E certificate.

Umut also works intensively in telecommunication and internet law, electronic communication services, private broadcasting legislation, and over-network services. He represents many global companies and their Turkish affiliates in these sectors before many administrative institutions, including the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, the Radio and Television Supreme Council, and the Advertising Board.
