Nicolas Thieltgen specialises in complex domestic and international litigation. He primarily advises and represents clients in sophisticated commercial proceedings, in particular in banking and finance litigation and shareholders’ disputes. He also has wide experience in multi-jurisdictional proceedings, including asset recovery and enforcement of foreign judgments. He also advises clients on white-collar crimes proceedings in the financial sector.

He is managing partner and a founding partner of Brucher Thieltgen & Partners and head of the banking and finance team. He is also the leader of the shareholders’ disputes, and banking and finance litigation task forces of the firm.

Nicolas Thieltgen is an avocat à la cour, member of the Luxembourg Bar Association since 2001.

He is vice president of the Luxembourg Association of Banking Law Lawyers (ALJB) and was elected member of the Luxembourg Bar Council in July 2018. He is honorary secretary general and former vice president of the banking, finance and capital markets commission of the International Association for Young Lawyers (AIJA), and one of the current chairs of the AIJA human rights committee.

Nicolas Thieltgen regularly speaks at conferences and seminars and contributes to various publications. He is notably in charge of the annual case law review on banking and financial law of the Bulletin Droit et Banque, the reputed semi-annual journal of the Luxembourg Association of Banking Law Lawyers.

He holds a master’s degree in law from the law faculty at the Université Catholique de Louvain.
