Bell Nunnally Attorney Ty Johnson Elected Partner

29 Feb 2024 North America

Bell Nunnally corporate and real estate transactional attorney Ty Johnson has been elevated to partner, effective January 1. Johnson, who joined the firm in 2022, was previously senior counsel.

“What sets Ty apart is his unique ability to visualize and walk clients through complex processes – both in terms of the business life cycle and specific deals under consideration. Clients appreciate his ability to effectively communicate the opportunities and the challenges in each scenario, a valuable skill he brings to our interdisciplinary client teams here at Bell Nunnally,” said Christopher Trowbridge, Bell Nunnally managing partner. “We congratulate Ty on this next step in his career and look forward to his continued success.”

Johnson is a member of the Bell Nunnally’s Corporate and Securities, Real Estate, Commercial Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions practices. He represents clients – across a wide array of industry sectors, including retail, restaurants, real estate and health care – from startups to established enterprises, in all phases of the business life cycle, including corporate governance, ongoing operations and exit strategies. Johnson offers clients unique perspective in deal financial aspects, having experience representing both lenders and borrowers in financing transactions related to acquisitions and sales, commercial financing, investor relations and loan negotiations.

Prior to joining the Bell Nunnally, Johnson was general counsel of a private equity and real estate investment firm in Dallas, where he supported the strategic needs of the holding company and the day-to-day operations of its multiple business units in sectors ranging from retail to real estate to health care. Outside his practice at the firm, Johnson is engaged with the startup world through his involvement with the Golden Seeds Angel Network’s Dallas Chapter – a mission-driven investor group seeking out and actively funding women-led businesses.

Admitted to practice law in both Texas and Oklahoma, Johnson has four times been selected by his peers for inclusion on Super Lawyer’s “Texas Rising Star” list. He earned both his law and undergraduate degrees at Vanderbilt University (J.D, Order of the Coif, 2002; B.S., magna cum laude, 1997).
