COVID-19 – FAQs for employers

As the COVID-19 virus is spreading and unprecedented restrictions are introduced on people and businesses, we have been inundated with queries from our employer clients on how to deal with an ever changing employment landscape. In this note, we set out the most frequently asked questions, with our answers, taking into account the latest Government advice. We intend to keep these FAQs updated in light of any new concerns raised by our clients and rapidly changing government guidance. In particular, further details are still awaited in relation to furlough leave under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme announced on 20 March 2020. These FAQ were published on the 24 March 2020.
